Event 1: Before Party, presented by Durbanville Hills Wine

Village Vibes 2019 kicks-off with a laid-back party at Joon in Palmer Road. Enjoy snack platters with a complimentary glass of wine from Durbanville Hills Wine while perusing the art exhibition and being entertained by alternative-folk singer/songwriter Marcia Moon.

Event 2: Afro-Jazz Fusion

Clue: This 7-piece collective sprung from the Jazz, Classical and African Music Department at UCT's College of Music. Think brass (lots of it), drums and guitars creating Afro-beat, Jazz, Folk, Reggae and Funk sounds, seamlessly blended with poetry/spoken word. 

Gin and Craft Beer Break

The good folk from Noon Gun Brewery will tease your tastebuds with samplings of their finest craft beers and gin & tonic mixers.

Event 3: Stand Up Comedy

Clue: This rather famous comedian won the inaugural Comics Choice Breakthrough Act Award, and has starred in several box office movies, television shows and theatre productions. He performed for Nelson Mandela at his 90th birthday bash and forms half of the aah-mazing comedic duo that had a cult-like following for more than a decade. 

Event 4: Folk/Rock Live 

Clue: This folk/rock violinist extraordinaire has played in every major festival in South Africa and has been involved in 7 studio albums and 40 singles to date. He’s shared the stage with a range of acclaimed local and international artists, including: Finley Quaye, Jeremy Loops, Lira, Arno Carstens, Medicine Boy, Incubus, Sannie Fox, Beatenberg, Majozi, Jack Parow and Francois Van Coke. 

Event 5: After party, presented by Noon Gun Brewery

Return to Joon to quench your thirst with complimentary craft beer from our awesome sponsors Noon Gun Brewery, and tuck into one of Joon’s famous pizzas or snack platters while listening to live jazz. Things will heat up again with some flaming displays and the hottest band to come out of the Deep South this year: Boyes Drive (12 April) and blues/jazz diva Nhoza and her 4-piece band.

Still keen to party? Head over to The Striped Horse in York Street, where there will be DJs until late (2am). All ticket holders will receive a free drink on arrival.
